The Design for Social Innovation and Sustainability Network (DESIS) was invited to take part in the first World Design Summit Meeting (WDSM) occurring in Montréal (Canada) on 22-24 October 2017, represented by Carla Cipolla (DESIS coordinator)

The WDSM will bring together international architecture, design, urban planning and landscape architecture organizations and international economic, social,

environmental and cultural organizations to discuss the establishment of a ten-year framework for cooperation in utilizing the potential of design to create a better and more sustainable future for all, which includes: a Declaration recognizing the potential of design and design-related practices to help better achieve global economic, social, cultural and environmental objectives; initiation of ongoing international collaboration via programs and projects to enhance utilization of advanced design processes in all areas of endeavour; and a framework for achieving these objectives.
